Alcohol-Based Wax for Apples – XEDASOL L (Exclusive)

XEDASOL L is an innovative food-grade additive made from natural shellac dissolved in ethyl alcohol. Once applied, it forms a semi-permeable gas barrier that:

  • Enhances fruit gloss
  • Slows down the ripening process
  • Protects fruit from bacteria thanks to the presence of alcohol
  • Reduces water loss, preserving crispness and juiciness
  • Eliminates odors
  • Ensures long-lasting shine without stickiness

The coating, approximately two microns thick, is moisture-resistant and keeps the fruit fresh and glossy.

Protective Waxes for Stone Fruits

Protective waxes for stone fruits are food-grade emulsions of vegetable oils, formulated with ingredients compliant with European regulations. Recommended for nectarines, plums, peaches, and other round fruits or vegetables (e.g., tomatoes), these waxes:

  • Enhance the gloss of the fruits
  • Offer resistance to dehydration
  • Control ripening and reduce rotting (Monilia, Botrytis, Rhizopus, Penicillium) when combined with fungicide treatments
