Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) Bags

Alteration of gases inside the sealed package.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) Bags Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) Bags

MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) technology alters the gas levels inside sealed packages, increasing CO₂ and reducing O₂, to slow down the respiration of fruits and vegetables and extend their freshness.

The ATM Retarder® bags are made with a semi-permeable film that regulates gas exchanges, maintaining optimal relative humidity. This atmosphere prevents both dehydration and excessive moisture accumulation, reducing the risk of deterioration. The gas levels in the bags adjust according to the respiration rate of the product, storage temperature, and packaged quantity, ensuring optimal quality control.

Advantages of ATM Retarder® Bags

  • Slows down metabolism and ripening: Maintains product quality for a longer period
  • Reduces physiological disorders: Minimizes the incidence of physiological damage during storage
  • Improves appearance: Reduces wrinkling, providing a fresh look upon opening
  • Optimal humidity control: Prevents dehydration and weight loss of products
